In 2021, Shanghai NaTRIUM Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established to attract high-end talents at home and abroad. We have established a "Sodium Ion Battery Technology Joint Research and Development Center" in cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, fully leveraging its basic scientific research foundation and conditions, strengthening industry-university research cooperation, and rapidly promoting the transformation of sodium ion technology achievements through complementary advantages.

 

In August 2022, the Zhejiang Engineering Research Center for Sodium Ion Battery Technology, which was declared by NaTRIUM, was recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and the Shaoxing Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University participated in the joint construction.

 

In January 2023, the company established the "NaTRIUM Energy Research Institute", focusing on the scientific and engineering research and development of sodium-ion batteries. It has established an advanced material design and preparation, material structure characterization, material electrochemical performance testing, and sodium ion battery cell sample manufacturing and evaluation experimental platform. By conducting in-depth research on the fundamental scientific issues of core materials for sodium-ion batteries, developing new generation sodium-ion battery materials and their key application technologies, continuously breaking through the engineering and technical barriers in the preparation process of sodium ion battery core materials, enhancing the competitiveness of sodium innovation energy, and helping to achieve China's strategic goals of "carbon neutrality" and "carbon peak", we contribute to the sustainable development and sustainable operation of the company.


Product Technology

Product creation and intelligent manufacturing are the goals of research and development innovation and are the core capabilities of NaTRIUM to serve customers and benefit humanity. To fulfill our commitment to providing core materials and solutions for sodium ion battery manufacturers, developing products that satisfy customers is crucial, and intelligent green manufacturing of products is the foundation. The three elements of product engineering in NaTRIUM are Patented Technology, Product Design, and Green Intelligent Manufacturing.


Patent Technology


Intellectual property is the source of product innovation. NaTRIUM Energy focuses on original research on the preparation and application of core materials and cells for sodium-ion batteries and cooperates with institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Sichuan University, and Shanghai University of Applied Technology to establish a new mechanism for technology transfer and cooperation, forming a series of patents and proprietary technology systems for sodium-ion battery materials, cell manufacturing, and their applications. The company will take it as its responsibility to lead the development of the sodium electricity industry, continuously innovate, enrich, and improve the sodium innovation patent technology and intellectual property system, and become the source and driving force of product design.


Product Design


Based on customer demand and molecular engineering theory, NaTRIUM Energy designs positive electrode (cathode) materials and electrolytes with different structures and compositions to form energy electronic materials series products. Based on the successful experience in Research and Development, and industrialization of sodium ferrite base oxide anode materials, the company has designed a variety of transition metal layered oxides, polyanionic compounds, and Prussian blue compounds. By revealing electrode/electrolyte interface transport phenomena, functional electrolyte additives have been developed and a series of functional electrolytes have been designed. Through molecular engineering technology innovation, Research and Development of new material synthesis technology and new equipment, and development of a series of product production technology packages, to provide a theoretical basis for green intelligent manufacturing of products.


Green Intelligent Manufacturing


NaTRIUM Energy has developed layered oxide cathode materials represented by sodium ferrite and polyanion cathode materials through the development of atomic economy and low-carbon environmental protection synthesis reactions. It continuously improves the synthesis process, optimizes synthesis equipment and control schemes, and establishes an integrated green manufacturing industrial park for sodium ion battery cathode materials. Develop new electrolyte additives and their green synthesis technologies to continuously improve the quality of electrolytes. To achieve China's dual carbon strategy goals, enhance the competitiveness of sodium innovation products, and lay a solid industrial foundation for better customer service.
